Peter England Launches VYBE to Target India’s Gen-Z Menswear Market

For a brand long associated with polished shirts, trousers and officewear, Peter England is entering a decidedly different wardrobe.
The Indian menswear brand has launched VYBE, a new sub-brand aimed at Gen Z, marking a shift in both its clothing and its approach to reaching younger shoppers. The collection focuses on relaxed, contemporary silhouettes and complete looks rather than individual wardrobe staples.
Oversized T-shirts, cargos, shackets, overshirts, polos, denim and Korean-fit trousers form part of the first collection, with the pieces positioned at accessible prices. The first drop is being introduced through 50 Peter England stores, alongside the brand's website and Myntra.

Why Peter England Is Targeting Gen Z
But the bigger story isn't just about what Gen Z is wearing. It's about how they discover fashion.
Younger consumers increasingly encounter clothes through Instagram, creators, music and digital communities rather than traditional advertising. Peter England is responding by making VYBE's marketing heavily digital and creator-led, including its VYBE Verified campaign and a music-focused launch strategy.
The strategy reflects a wider change in fashion consumption. Instead of simply looking for a shirt, pair of jeans or jacket, young shoppers are increasingly interested in building a complete aesthetic around themselves.
Peter England's chief business officer Anand Aiyer described this shift as consumers looking for “looks” that they can mix and match to create their own personality.
What VYBE Says About the Future of Indian Menswear

That change also explains VYBE's faster product cycle. The company plans more frequent drops so that customers encounter something new when they return to stores. Peter England has already finalised its second product drop even before the first collection reaches the wider market.
For an established brand, however, winning Gen Z isn't simply a matter of making clothes more casual.
It requires understanding a generation that treats fashion as part of a larger cultural ecosystem—one connected to music, creators, social media, identity and self-expression.
Can VYBE Help Peter England Stay Relevant?
VYBE is therefore less of a complete reinvention of Peter England and more of an attempt to create a new doorway into the brand.
The challenge will be maintaining relevance once the novelty of the launch fades. Gen Z's attention moves quickly, and competing with digital-first and fast-fashion brands requires more than one successful collection.
For Peter England, VYBE represents a bet on something bigger than a new clothing line: that a legacy Indian brand can remain relevant by learning to speak the language of a new generation.
